What God promises us…
If you're not religious (no offense), but you may want to skip this post. Or, here's an idea...stick around because you may learn something. Fun fact: I just recorded my first audiobook. Surprisingly, it was remarkably successful and only took me a few weeks. I'm sharing this story because I often speak about the importance of taking action. In the midst of storms or moments of idleness, it's easy for us to lose sight of our gifts and talents. We become so focused on our goals and aspirations that we forget to connect with the very essence of who we are and what we are capable of.
But let me tell you, my friend! You have many gifts. You haven't even reached your peak experiences in life yet! So, during times of doubt, we must remember to seek out the people and things that remind us of our abilities and strengths. Literally, stay close to whatever knows your power.
In my recent dive into an audiobook deeply rooted in the teachings of Proverbs, I was captivated by the plethora of life lessons that scripture brings to light. Among these teachings, the stories of God granting wisdom and discernment resonated with me on a profound level. These stories served as a reminder of the ultimate purpose in life—to bring meaning to our existence and fulfill our unique calling. And to achieve this purpose, we must cultivate patience, wisdom, discretion, and our talents.
Every obstacle that comes our way serves a purpose, and sometimes what we perceive as victories or gifts can actually be obstacles in disguise. This is why it is crucial that every aspect of our lives, from our place of employment to our relationships, aligns with our purpose and provides us with a sense of purpose in return. It is through these facets that we gain the empowerment to live a fulfilled life and strive for greatness.
Proverbs 16:3 reminds us, "Commit to the Lord and he will establish your plans." These words imply that God has already laid out a path for us, and if we remain faithful to Him, we will find abundance and achieve what we have set out to do in our lives. Conversely, Proverbs 12:11 warns us that "he who follows worthless pursuits lacks sense," emphasizing the importance of doing the work and never losing sight of the paths that truly make sense for our lives.
So let us not lose sight of our gifts and talents, even during the storms of life or moments of idleness. Let us seek wisdom and discernment, aligning our lives with our purpose, and pursuing meaningful pursuits. Embracing the teachings of Proverbs, we can find the fulfillment and greatness that we were destined for.
Be well!
